just for fun: whimsical & inspiring artworks

i've been doing a lot of blog stalking lately- i find one, then there's link to another, and before i know it, i'm subscribed to 15 new blogs!

i'm thinking of making my own mood board of sorts, just for fun. earlier this week i found instructions on a DIY bridal book, a tool that brides-to-be can use to plan their big day- a place to collect sample swatches, napkins, invitations, color schemes, etc. i may make one of those to collect inspiring art pieces and knick knacks instead of using a mood board. i'm no fashion designer or a bride-to-be, but it would be fun to see what kinds of things i find inspiring during different seasons in life.
here are some recent works i came across that i found whimsical and fun:

new font design by a couture design company. the design is nice, but i love how the artwork captures the spirit of the font!

by Elsje Designs

A portrait of the composer and director Joe Hisaishi, best known for his work in Miyazaki films. i love the movement and the spirit of his music captured in the artwork.

@jen i don't know how you do it. i'm subscribed to 79 and i get overwhelmed with the sheer amount of info, opinions and arsty-farty paraphernelia. i guess stalking for 5+ years helps, eh? ;)
