today i had a delightful convo with my youngest brother. ever since i committed to being a suns fan my knowledge of basketball has increased exponentially. joseph is one of my teachers and we've been bonding a lot through bball talks. today's conversation was especially heart-warming.
Joe: noona, if you could have anything in the world, what would you have?
Me: i'd probably want something like, joy for everyone!
J: okay
M: what about you?
J: i'd want to be best friends with channing frye.
M: really? why not steve nash?
J: steve nash is too famous and i want a black person. but stoudemire looks too scary.
always count on the young people for honesty
...a few minutes later...
J: noona, if you could have any car in the world, what would you have?
M: i like driving SUVs, so maybe a range rover?
J: ok. i have to remember so that i can get it for you when i become an NBA player
M: aw, thanks! but remember to ask me again when the time comes in case i change my mind.
sweet, right? and then a couple minutes later...
M: which position would you want to play? point guard?
J: no way! i wanna be a small forward.
M: oh, you don't have to be as tall as a power forward for that, huh?
J: yeah. but i still want to be like, 6'5"
M: joseph do you see how tall your sister is? for some reason i doubt that you'll get that big.
J: fine. 6'3" then.
M: that's more reasonable. (*mental self-beration for being a downer*)
despite my doubts about his full-grown height, dreams are beautiful things, and i hope that my brother keeps on dreaming and dribbling and shooting.
