denver, colorado

What a day! Today Chris and I left Albuquerque for Denver, CO.

Colorado is a beautiful state!
I got reeeally excited when Chris pointed out the Air Force Academy.
Hi everyone! This is Chris[tine] now! Euojin has handed over the computer tee hee! I think she was getting blogger's block... This is the first time that I've ever blogged!

Sooooo....like Euoj said, Colorado is really pretty! On the way there we stopped by a rest area/gas station called "Wagon Mound" and there were all these wildflowers growing on the side!
Pretty! they were really big, like daisy sunflowers!

So once we arrived at Denver, we checked into our hotel/inn and once we were in our rooms, there was kinda an interesting event that we shall call "Swift Truck vs. Light Pole" outside our window...unfortunately, all the pictures are on Euoj's camera so we'll have to update that later!

After settling in, we went to downtown Denver to explore and eat dinner and walk around...we visited 16th St., which is like a street mall except most of the stores were closed at 7 or 8pm. -___- good thing they still had plenty of places to eat!
Euoj and I ate dinner at this place called Osteria Marco...
It was pretty good! We tried lots of things for the first time...like their Carbonara Pizza, which had a cracked egg in the middle!
see the egg?! It was yummy...Euoj said it was like some breakfast food, but pizza ahhaha....
After dinner we walked around some more; the street that the restaurant was on was really prettily decorated, there were all the state flags hung up across (we weren't sure if these were residual Democratic National Convention decorations or just permanent fixtures, but they were really cool!)

Not such a great picture of the flags but you get the idea! Points for anyone who noticed that Euoj was pointing at them....specifically at two flags right next to each other, Wisconsin and California! What a coinkydink, given our trip! The street was really pretty :)

Then we went to a super cute gelato cafe called Gelazzi
(*Note: I have no idea why I tend to take pictures from the lower right hand side hahaha...weird!)
Euoj was reallly happy because there were like 2389740935942 fruity flavors and she had wanted something "fruity for dessert to balance out the salt intake" (the pizza was kinda salty)
Along the way, we met our Best (and Only) Friend in Denver, Tony!
After talking for a bit and tasting like half the flavors they had available, then going outside to eat, then coming back in...

Euoj: Hey, want to be our friend and take a picture with us?
Tony: Sure!

Tony, if you're ever reading this...HI! thanks for being so friendly...Gelazzi was great!

Sigh. now it's like past 2am...post Friends, Scrubs, My Wife and Kids, CNN (will the next President really finish the border fence? seriously, how much coverage will lipstick-on-a-pig get!?!), Anaconda, and Reading Rainbow surfing, the two of us are like half asleep...zzZZZzzz....next stop, Omaha!

p.s. Local Asian Count (LAC) in Denver = 6.5
bringing our trip total to...... 21!

p.p.s. at the restaurant, our waiter didn't card me for ordering a drink! and Euoj fully asked him why he didn't and it was momentarily very awkward....we wondered if maybe for a fleeting moment he thought we were like undercover food/restaurant regulators (?) ahha..jk!
